• Lead planning and execution of high throughput screens for improvement of a number of enzymes for 1st and 2nd generation bioethanol
• Lead technical part that won European tender project to supply enzymes for Biogas
• Introduced C5-C6 yeast to the Leiden R&D lab, and implemented the alcohol fermentation on cellulosic biomass
• Purchased, implemented, and instructed colleagues new equipment, such as Ankom to monitor alcohol fermentations
• Technical lead of internal and external product assessments
• As part of a team evaluated and recommended software for acquisition, processing and storing large screen data
• Actively involved in external collaborations
• Together with a programmer developed a data acquisition tool that greatly improved automation and reliability of high throughput screens and is being applied globally
• Write invention disclosures
• Technical support in business meetings with customers
